Refund Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Hanseong Revival Press ("we," "us," or "our") operates:

This Refund Policy governs all donations made through the Online Properties. By making a donation, you agree to the terms outlined herein.

All donations are voluntary gifts and are final and non-refundable, except as expressly required by applicable law or granted at our sole discretion under Section 2 below. All contributions are treated as donations, not purchases of goods or services. No goods, services, or benefits of monetary value are provided in exchange for any donation, and donations do not confer any ownership, licence, or entitlement beyond the ministry's discretionary gratitude.

1. SCOPE OF NO-REFUND POLICY

The no-refund policy applies to:
  • One-time donations (voluntary contributions of any amount);
  • Recurring donations (monthly, annual, or custom schedules — see cancellation below);
  • Donations accompanied by the delivery of freely available digital content (e.g., e-books, music, or exclusive materials — such content is provided as a courtesy and does not convert the donation into a purchase);
  • Event or campaign contributions;
  • Any other voluntary financial support provided via the Online Properties.
Once a donation is successfully processed and funds are received, the transaction is considered complete and irreversible. Donors are encouraged to review donation descriptions and our Terms and Conditions before contributing.

Recurring donations. Although recurring donations are non-refundable, you may cancel future recurring donations at any time by contacting us or through your payment provider; cancellation takes effect from the next scheduled cycle. Amounts already deducted before cancellation remain subject to this policy.

2. EXCEPTIONS TO NO-REFUND POLICY

Notwithstanding the foregoing, refunds may be granted, at our discretion, in the following limited circumstances, subject to verification:

Duplicate donations. If you are charged more than once for the same donation due to a technical error, we will refund the duplicate amount within thirty (30) days of verification;

Unauthorised transactions. If a donation was made without your consent (e.g., fraud or use of a stolen payment method), you must report it immediately to your payment provider and to us with supporting evidence (e.g., police report or bank statement);

Processing errors. If a donation fails to register on our system despite successful payment, we will either apply the donation correctly or issue a refund within fourteen (14) business days.

Refunds, if approved, will be processed using the original method of payment and may take up to ten (10) to fourteen (14) business days to appear in your account. Refunds are limited to the donated amount and do not include any payment-processing fees retained by third-party platforms.

3. STATUTORY RIGHTS

This policy does not affect any rights you may have under applicable law. For the avoidance of doubt: Because donations are voluntary gifts without consideration, they fall largely outside consumer-sale and distance-selling protections; generally, a gift is not recoverable absent fraud, mistake, or duress under the general law of Malaysia (including the Contracts Act 1950);

Where a donation is procured by misrepresentation or fraud, the payer may be entitled to restitution under general principles of contract and unjust enrichment;

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any remedy available to you under mandatory consumer protection legislation, where it applies to you.

We comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709), as amended, in respect of any personal data processed in connection with donations, as set out in our Privacy Policy and Data Protection Notice.

4. REQUESTING A REFUND

To request consideration for a refund under an exception, email hanseongrevivalpress@protonmail.com within seven (7) days of the donation with:
  • Your full name;
  • Transaction ID or receipt;
  • Date and amount of donation;
  • A detailed reason and supporting evidence.
We will acknowledge receipt within forty-eight (48) hours and provide a final decision within fifteen (15) business days. We reserve the right to decline requests that do not meet the criteria above or that appear fraudulent.

5. CHARGEBACKS AND DISPUTES

We strongly encourage donors to contact us before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute, so that we can resolve genuine errors directly and swiftly — a refund from us is faster and simpler for you than a bank dispute.

We will respond cooperatively and in good faith to any chargeback initiated through your bank or card issuer, providing transaction records and evidence of the donation terms. While we may contest chargebacks that we believe to be unfounded, we will not retaliate against donors, and lawful chargeback rights under your card-network rules are unaffected by this policy.

6. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

This Refund Policy is governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, conveniently seated at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, except where applicable consumer-protection law confers mandatory jurisdiction elsewhere.
