Term of Use

Last updated: 4 September 2026

These Legal Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("you"), and Hanseong Revival Press ("we," "us," or "our"), concerning your access to and use of:

(together, the "Services"). By accessing the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Legal Terms. If you do not agree with all of these Legal Terms, you are expressly prohibited from using the Services and must discontinue use immediately.

Supplemental policies posted on the Services from time to time — including our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Data Protection Notice, Community Comment Guidelines, Anti-Spam Policy, DMCA & Copyright Takedown Policy, Refund & Donation Policy, Warranties & Disclaimers, and Responsible Disclosure Policy — are incorporated into these Legal Terms by reference.

We may modify these Legal Terms from time to time. We will alert you to changes by updating the "Last updated" date, and material changes may also be announced on the Services. It is your responsibility to review these Legal Terms periodically. Your continued use of the Services after revised Legal Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the changes.

All users who are minors in the jurisdiction in which they reside (generally under 18) must have the permission of, and be supervised by, a parent or guardian to use the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 — see Section 12 of our Privacy Policy.

1. OUR SERVICES

Hanseong Revival Press is a non-commercial Christian publishing ministry based in Sabah, Malaysia (Two of our columist resides in USA and European Union), operating the publications Saved by Grace and Hanseong Revival Press. The Services provide free religious, devotional, and educational content. No goods or services are sold through the Services, no accounts are issued by us, and no fee is charged for access.

The information provided through the Services is not intended for distribution to or use by any person in any jurisdiction where such distribution or use would be contrary to law or regulation. Those who access the Services from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, to the extent applicable.

2. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

Certain features of our website make use of third-party services, embedded content, and materials (such as embedded players, streaming platforms, and published works quoted for review or teaching). Where we use or reference third-party materials, we do so only as fair use / fair dealing for non-commercial, educational, and evangelistic purposes — briefly, with attribution, and without substitution for the original work — in reliance on recognised copyright exceptions, including fair dealing under the Copyright Act 1987 of Malaysia and the limitations and exceptions permitted for educational and religious non-commercial uses under the Berne Convention and national laws of our visitors' countries. We make no commercial use of any third-party material, and we do not reproduce complete works. Rights in third-party materials remain with their respective owners; trademarks and service marks belonging to third parties are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification and reference only, without any claim of endorsement.

We do not warrant, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party service or content so used — see Section 7 (Third-Party Websites and Content). Where a rights holder believes our use of their material exceeds these limits, they are invited to submit a notice under our DMCA & Copyright Takedown Policy, and we will review it promptly on its merits.

3. USER REPRESENTATIONS

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that: (1) any information you submit to us is true, accurate, current, and complete; (2) you have the legal capacity to comply with these Legal Terms; (3) you are not a minor in your jurisdiction, or if a minor, you have parental or guardian permission to use the Services; (4) you will not access the Services through automated means for any abusive purpose described in Section 5; (5) you will not use the Services for any illegal or unauthorised purpose; and (6) your use of the Services will not violate any applicable law or regulation.

If information you provide is untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete, we may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, in accordance with Section 11.

4. PERMITTED USE OF OUR CONTENT

Subject to your compliance with these Legal Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, revocable permission to access the Services and to download, print, share, quote, and reproduce our original Content for non-commercial ministry, teaching, study, and personal use, with attribution to Hanseong Revival Press.

Commercial republication, or any use beyond the scope above, requires our prior written permission — please write to hanseongrevivalpress @ protonmail.com. If permission is granted, you must identify us as the owner or licensor and preserve any copyright notice on the Content.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted. This Section is subject to Section 8 of our DMCA & Copyright Takedown Policy, which sets out the same sharing permissions in detail; where the two documents differ, this Section governs.

5. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

You may not use the Services for any purpose other than that for which we make them available. As a user of the Services, you agree not to:
  • Systematically retrieve data or content from the Services to create or compile a collection, compilation, database, or directory without our written permission;
  • Trick, defraud, or mislead us or other users;
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the Services;
  • Harass, abuse, or harm another person using information obtained from the Services;
  • Submit false reports of abuse or misconduct;
  • Use the Services in a manner inconsistent with applicable laws or regulations, including the offences described in our Anti-Spam Policy and Computer Crimes Act 1997 (Malaysia);
  • Upload or transmit viruses, Trojan horses, spam, or other material that interferes with any party's use and enjoyment of the Services;
  • Engage in automated abuse — scripts, data mining, robots, scrapers, or similar tools — except as permitted by standard search-engine usage;
  • Delete or obscure any copyright or proprietary notice from Content;
  • Impersonate another person or user;
  • Upload or transmit material that acts as a passive information-collection mechanism (web bugs, tracking pixels, spyware, or similar);
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or create an undue burden on the Services or connected networks;
  • Attempt to bypass access-restriction measures;
  • Collect usernames or email addresses of users for the purpose of sending unsolicited communications;
  • Use the Services to advertise or offer to sell goods and services;
  • Publish Contributions that violate our Community Comment Guidelines.
6. USER CONTRIBUTIONS

The Services invite you to comment and correspond. When you post or send Contributions (comments, messages, testimonies, feedback, or other material):

What you grant us.
You grant Hanseong Revival Press a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, reproduce, moderate, reformat for technical purposes, translate, excerpt, archive, and distribute your Contributions in connection with operating the Services, with attribution to you unless you request otherwise.

This licence is granted for operational purposes only: we do not claim the right to sell your Contributions, use them in advertising, or sublicense them, and any promotional reuse beyond quoting with attribution requires your separate permission. The licence subsists for as long as your content remains hosted or archived.

You retain ownership of your Contributions and all intellectual property rights in them. We assert no ownership over them.

What you warrant.
When posting, you represent and warrant that: your Contributions are original to you or properly licensed; they do not infringe third-party rights, including copyright and moral rights; you have the consent of every identifiable person appearing in them; they are not false, misleading, obscene, harassing, defamatory, or unlawful; they do not contain the personal data of others disclosed without consent; and they comply with our Community Comment Guidelines. To the extent permitted by law, you grant us consent to use your Contributions in the manners described above without breaching any moral rights you hold.

Enforcement.
Although we have no obligation to monitor Contributions, we may remove or edit any Contribution at any time without notice if, in our reasonable opinion, it is harmful or breaches these Legal Terms or the Community Guidelines. If we remove Contributions, we may suspend your access and, where required by law, report matters to the authorities.

7. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND CONTENT

The Services may contain links to other websites and content belonging to third parties. Such Third-Party Websites and Content are not investigated, monitored, or checked for accuracy, appropriateness, or completeness by us, and we are not responsible for them, including their content, opinions, reliability, or privacy practices. Inclusion of a link does not imply approval or endorsement. If you access a Third-Party Website, you do so at your own risk, these Legal Terms no longer govern, and you should review that website's terms and privacy practices. Your dealings with any third party are solely between you and that third party, and you hold us blameless from harm arising from them.

8. SERVICES MANAGEMENT

We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to:
(1) monitor the Services for violations of these Legal Terms;
(2) take appropriate action against anyone who violates the law or these Legal Terms, including reporting to law-enforcement authorities where required or permitted;
(3) refuse, restrict, remove, or disable any Contribution at our discretion and in accordance with our Community Comment Guidelines; and
(4) otherwise manage the Services to protect our rights and property and facilitate their proper functioning.

9. PRIVACY POLICY

We care about data privacy and security. Our Privacy Policy and Data Protection Notice are incorporated into these Legal Terms. Please review them.

The Services are hosted on infrastructure operated by third-party providers — principally Google LLC (United States) for the Blog, and our independent hosting provider for the Website — with data consequently processed outside Malaysia in accordance with s. 129 of the PDPA 2010, as amended, and, for visitors from the EEA/UK, under the safeguards described in our Data Protection Notice. By using the Services from a region with different data-protection laws, you acknowledge this processing as described in those documents.

10. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENTS

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe any material on the Services infringes copyright you own or control, please notify us in accordance with our DMCA & Copyright Takedown Policy, which sets out the required contents of a notice, our removal procedure, and the counter-notice process. You may be liable for damages if you make material misrepresentations in a notification; if you are unsure whether material infringes your copyright, consider seeking legal advice first.

11. TERM AND TERMINATION

These Legal Terms remain in force while you use the Services. Without limiting any other provision, we reserve the right to deny access to the Services — including blocking certain IP addresses — to any person who breaches these Legal Terms or any applicable law, in accordance with the enforcement framework in our Community Comment Guidelines. We may remove content you posted if it breaches these Legal Terms. If your access is terminated for breach, you may not re-register or re-participate under another identity to circumvent the termination. We may take appropriate action, including civil redress, and will report suspected criminal offences to the competent authorities.

12. MODIFICATIONS AND INTERRUPTIONS

We may change, modify, or remove the contents of the Services at any time, for any reason, at our discretion without notice, and we have no obligation to update any information. We cannot guarantee the Services will be available at all times; hardware, software, platform-provider, or maintenance issues may cause interruptions, delays, or errors. We will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by your inability to access the Services during any downtime or discontinuance. Nothing in these Legal Terms obliges us to maintain or support the Services. Availability of the Blog ultimately depends on Google's services.

13. GOVERNING LAW

These Legal Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Informal negotiation first. Before commencing any formal proceedings, the parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute relating to these Legal Terms informally, by written notice and good-faith negotiation, for a period of thirty (30) days from written notice by one party to the other.

Litigation. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Legal Terms that is not resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, conveniently seated at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, unless otherwise required by mandatory provisions of applicable law.

Carve-outs. Nothing in this section prevents either party from: (a) seeking injunctive or other equitable relief for intellectual-property infringement, data breaches, or unauthorised use; or (b) pursuing complaints before competent regulators or data-protection authorities.

15. CORRECTIONS

There may be typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions on the Services. We reserve the right to correct any errors and to change or update information at any time without prior notice.

16. DISCLAIMER

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICES AND YOUR USE OF THEM. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF THE SERVICES' CONTENT OR THE CONTENT OF ANY WEBSITE LINKED TO THE SERVICES. Our full disclaimers — including on theological content and the absence of professional advice — are set out in our Warranties & Disclaimers policy, incorporated into these Legal Terms by reference.

17. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hanseong Revival Press and its operators, editors, and contributors will not be liable to you for any indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or loss of data, arising from your use of the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Legal Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any statutory right that cannot be waived. Certain laws (including some US state laws and mandatory consumer-protection provisions) may not allow certain limitations; where they apply to you, you may have additional rights.

18. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Hanseong Revival Press and its operators, editors, and contributors harmless from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of:

(1) your Contributions;
(2) your use of the Services;
(3) your breach of these Legal Terms or of any applicable law;
(4) your violation of the rights of a third party; or
(5) any overt harmful act toward another user connected via the Services.

We reserve the right, at your expense, to assume the exclusive defence of any matter for which you are required to indemnify us, and you agree to cooperate with our defence. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of any such claim.

19. USER DATA

We maintain certain data you transmit to the Services for the purpose of operating them, as described in our Privacy Policy and Data Protection Notice. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you submit to us. Comments and correspondence are retained and deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy's retention schedule.

20. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS AND SIGNATURES

Visiting the Services, sending us emails, and completing forms constitute electronic communications. You consent to receive electronic communications, and you agree that notices, disclosures, and other communications provided to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing, to the extent permitted by the Electronic Commerce Act 2006 (Malaysia) and corresponding law in your jurisdiction.

21. VOLUNTARY NATURE OF THE SERVICES

The Services are provided gratuitously by a non-commercial ministry. No fee is charged; nothing on the Services constitutes an offer of employment, a commercial service, or an invitation to treat. Donations, where solicited, are governed exclusively by our Refund & Donation Policy and are voluntary gifts, not payments for goods or services. Contributor writers serve voluntarily and are not employees, workers, agents, or contractors of the Press — see our Career page for the applicable declaration.

22. MISCELLANEOUS

These Legal Terms, together with the incorporated policies listed at the top, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services. Our failure to exercise any right or provision does not waive it. These Legal Terms operate to the fullest extent permissible by law. We may assign our rights and obligations in connection with any transfer of the ministry. We are not liable for delay or failure to act caused by events beyond our reasonable control. If any provision is held unlawful, void, or unenforceable, it is severable, and the remainder continues in effect. These Legal Terms create no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship between you and us. They are not to be construed against us merely by reason of having drafted them.
